The government of India has launched a new ‘Innovative Challenge’ urging startups to participate and build the country’s own video-conferencing application. It will reward whoever builds the app keeping the security of the users in mind.
We tried using the app and looks like the camera processing for video calls lacks quality. We’d expect that to be fixed through a future software update. The app’s interface is simple, allowing you to join a meeting or create one. In terms of access, the app will seek permission to use the phone’s camera, microphone, internet details, and storage for the file-sharing option. Since it doesn’t ask users to sign up before making calls, no personal details are required to be shared. This platform is for users who would prefer using made in India products, instead of global names like Zoom or Google Meet.

How to use and download Say Namaste App
STEP 1: How to download Say Namaste App
- Open App Store or Play Store.
- Search for Say Namaste app in the App Store or Google Play Store.
- Choose from search results and Download. The company in its FAQ section warns the users against fake apps and suggests them to subscribe to their mailing list to receive regular updates.
- Make sure you have signed in App Store or Play Store to successfully download the app.
STEP 2: How to use Say Namaste App
- Once you have downloaded the Say Namaste App, tap open the app in your Android or iOS-based device.
- Now you will see two options: Create a new meeting and Join a meeting.
- With Create a Meeting, you will be able to create a meeting ID that you can share with those whom you would like video chat.
- With Join a Meeting, you’ll be required to enter the meeting ID and the meeting code that has been sent to you by the host of the video meeting.
